Our Story

Animating Our World
El Grupo Animation Workshop was started in 2009 by students of the Animation Guild, Burbank, CA.
The group's goal was to explore and develop story and traditional hand drawn animation skills, thereby acquiring experience for the industry.
Animated film projects have been developed to give members hands-on experience in the various aspects of animation: storyboard, layout, rough and clean up animation, CG modeling, background design and painting, ink & paint and compositing. Our current projects include a horror/buddy film called "Nosfurratu", and an upcoming Western Train Robbery project. Members are mentored by current and retired traditional animation industry professionals.

Traditional (hand drawn) animation is the core focus of these workshops. Members work both on paper and digitally. The workshops are free, but space is limited. Interested artists should have a basic education in drawing and animation fundamentals. If you are interested in joining this group workshop, please contact us by email and include a link to your portfolio website: elgrupo839@gmail.com

Workshops are on Sundays from 9 am until 3 pm.
